Melissa Whatley, Ph.D., is a postdoctoral research scholar in the Belk Center for Community College Leadership and Research at North Carolina State University. She earned her Ph.D. in Higher Education from the University of Georgia’s Institute of Higher Education. Her research applies advanced quantitative analytic approaches to improve our understanding of policies and practices that diversify both who is able to access international education and the outcomes of these opportunities. Her most recent work focuses on international education at U.S. community colleges. She has published in venues such as Research in Higher Education, the Journal of Higher Education, and the Community College Review. She is also a co-author on a recent NAFSA: Association of International Educators publication International Higher Education Research: The State of the Field.
