John Leiner is one of C2i’s fabulous Data Collectors. John is a senior Political Science and Hispanic Studies Double Major with career interests in law and public policy. Upon graduation, he will attend law school at the University of Minnesota. At the University of Minnesota, John hopes to join the dual J.D./Master of Public Policy track through social policy coursework at the Humphrey School of Public Affairs. John has taken a particular interest in U.S. housing policy and the legal rights of tenants facing eviction, after his experience interning with the anti-homelessness entity “HOGAR SÍ” while studying abroad in Madrid. John is currently researching how tenant legal representation improves case outcomes for tenants in Charlotte eviction court. On campus, John is a Deliberative Citizenship Initiative Fellow, a Co-Chair for the Davidson Votes Initiative, and has been involved with various theatre productions and several vocal ensembles. As a spirited baseball fan, the only things John loves more than his St. Louis Cardinals are his family and his two black labs, Pepper and Chester.
